Small Business Bookkeeping in Kentucky

Monthly bookkeeping for small and family businesses in Southeastern Kentucky from a licensed CPA: transactions entered, accounts reconciled, payroll handled, and financial statements your banker and tax preparer can use.

Small-town Main Street
In short

I do monthly bookkeeping for small and family businesses across Southeastern Kentucky: every transaction entered, every account reconciled, payroll handled, and a set of financial statements each month that your banker and your tax preparer can use. You get a licensed CPA on the books, not just a bookkeeper, at a price sized for a small business.

What monthly bookkeeping includes

Bank and credit card transactions categorized correctly. Invoices and bills tracked so you know who owes you and who you owe. Payroll run and the filings kept current. Every account reconciled to the statement. And at month end, a balance sheet and a profit and loss with a short note from me on what changed. At year end, your tax preparer gets a complete package instead of a shoebox.

Why a CPA instead of a bookkeeper

A bookkeeper enters what happened. A CPA notices when what happened doesn't look right. I spent most of my career as an accounting manager and controller for companies with auditors looking over my shoulder, and I bring that habit of checking to a two-person shop. It's the difference between books that are filled in and books that are right.

How we work together

You send me statements and receipts however is easiest: bank access, a shared folder, or photos from your phone. I do the work remotely and we talk when there's something to talk about. If you're in the Corbin area, I'm glad to meet in person.

Questions

What people ask.

If your question isn’t here, call and ask. I’d rather talk it through than have you guess.

It depends on the volume of transactions, the number of accounts, and whether payroll is included. I price it in writing after a short conversation, and it stays predictable month to month.
